“Resi has been the perfect partner for us”

Eager to continue our adventure - and also hankering for a change of scenery, we moved to the Gold Coast in 2006 and were keen to see what we could buy in the local market.
It was then that we found ourselves in a favourable position to not only purchase a home outright, but to use our experience of property to develop an investment portfolio which would serve us well for when we eventually retire.
At this time we were recommended by several people to speak to a Resi representative in the area. When we met Tony Brinsdon from Resi Gold Coast North, we instantly recognised the advantage his local knowledge would add to our plans.
Tony was fantastic in exploring all the options for us as well as nurturing us through the vital period where we were familiarising ourselves with a market which was still relatively new to us.
After taking the time to settle into our new home we eventually found and bought an investment property which fitted the bill - and by the end of the same year had saved enough cash to put a 20% deposit on another investment property.
With Resi’s help we have structured the repayments on both properties in such a way that we are now positively geared.
This will now open up even more options for us to expand our portfolio even further.

Twelve months ago we found ourselves in a situation common to many growing families.
With a young baby already in tow, we wanted to increase our existing mortgage to give ourselves greater flexibility and options over the long term.
However, our lender at the time - a large bank, declined.
Generally disgruntled, it was all the impetus we needed to look elsewhere and it was then that we spoke to Tony Brinsdon at Resi Gold Coast North.
Resi looked at our current situation, listened to what we wanted to achieve and importantly detailed us a realistic plan we were both comfortable with.
We found that not only could we improve our existing property, but we were also in a comfortable position to use the equity we had built up in our home to purchase an investment property.
The equity in our house didn’t quite cover the required 20% deposit needed for the second property, requiring us to pay in some of our savings to keep the Lenders Mortgage Insurance down – which we were comfortable doing.
What we found however, was that after the improvements to our existing property were completed, the rental potential for this home increased significantly.
This provided us with yet another option - to rent out our current property, and live in the newly purchased property.
As a result, what is now our investment property is not only renovated but is heading toward being cash neutral, whilst at the same time we’ve managed to significantly improve our overall financial situation.
