Resi, in partnership with the Brisbane Outriggers club, hosted a marathon event unique to the outrigging calendar.  Held on Saturday 29 May 2010 as part of Queensland Week, this event attracted paddlers from across Australia as well as talented local and international competitors to experience mixed crew racing on the iconic Brisbane River.

The Annual Resi River Race held at South Bank, is an 18km outrigger marathon conducted only with mixed crews and is raced on a river under six bridges winding through the heart of Queensland’s capital.



Spectators watched on as over 30 Outrigger Canoes jostled for front position as they left Southbank Cultural Forecourt and paddled their way downriver towards the Goodwill Bridge. Competitors completed 3 laps of the course which winds its way back up towards Brisbane’s newest pedestrian bridge "The Kurilpa Bridge".

This year saw RESI Mortgage Corporation as the event’s major sponsor, providing a prize pool of over $6000 to be allocated to Mixed Open, Mixed Master, Mixed Senior Master divisions and for the first time, the Golden Master division. Six unplaced teams then went into the running for the chance to win a $200 cash prize.
