RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH AND SHOP AROUND
When you get to the stage that you are ready to enter the property market, don’t be afraid to ask around as well as doing your own comprehensive level of research.
There are so many loan products to suit first home buyers, whether you are single, just married or recently divorced, don’t rush to lock onto the first offer. Make sure to find out:
- The size of the deposit you really need including all associated loan costs
- If you are eligible to get any assistance from government grants
- If it is feasible to buy in with family or friends just to get your toe in the door
- Which lender genuinely has your best interests at heart and isn’t just after a sale
